A lovely snowy day

Today is a wonderfully relaxing snowy day. I went and took a couple of pictures today after church. I was gonna go to the Glacier, then found myself heading to Auke bay. I didn't make it all the way, I stopped at the little shack.
We're having a New Year's Eve open house at church tomorrow.. I will probably have more pictures to share.
I'm looking forward to a new year.. a chance yet again to do things right. I'm so glad God is patient with me!

Till tomorrow..........

Christmas Eve

It is early on Christmas Eve morning.. at least it's early for me, 7:30! I'm sitting at the table waiting for a package to arrive, and enjoying the morning. I have my coffee ( which sadly I have to give up ) my book of lists, and my Bible. I haven't been reading my Bible as I should, and it is showing in my life. Thank goodness God doesn't give up on me, He is so faithful.

I've had some Christmas cd's on, the occasional Christmas movie, I've decorated and baked. I've shopped and wrapped. It just hasn't felt like Christmas to me until last Thursday night. We had our usual dinner at Church, but instead of a study we sang Christmas songs. Oh it was so wonderful. Such a feeling of love and family, we all just loved God and Jesus together. I am so glad I went.. ( I was thinking I was too busy and couldn't squeeze it in, but God knew better) ... I hope we do it again next year.
Now it is Christmas to me.. I just needed to put my focus where it should have been all along, on Jesus.

Today will be a day of food, music, and family and friends. We always do the same things on Christmas Eve, a tradition I've had since I was little. It makes me miss those that can't be with us, My Dad, Shelly and her family, Bill and his. My Tim and Katie.
My Mom and Dale, who are in Heaven. But it also makes me appreciate those that are here, I love you all.

Emmy is asleep at my feet, and Max is asleep on the couch. David is at work and Erik is asleep. The house is quiet, and my coffee is finished. Time to begin my day.

ps... how about a picture??

My new love

I have a new love in my life. She is 6 years old, and is sleeping on the couch beside me as I type. Her name is Emmy. Actually, her name is "Denali, and the envelope goes to". She is my new sheltie. I see her sleeping, and I think of Tony. I remember him, and miss him. But she is not Tony, she is a little princess as Steve calls her. I fell in love with her on a 3 hour ride from Kenai to Anchorage. Then I had separation anxiety as I put her in a crate and let the airlines take her. I thought about her my entire flight, rushed off the airplane and downstairs at my Juneau airport, and went to where she would be taken. They said she would probably be the last off, she was the first. :-))))) She remembered me! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, more love. I took her out, walked her through the airport, got so many "look how pretty, isn't she cute, oh, can I pet her", and then let her go outside. Then into the car, meet Erik (wow, she's so small, isn't she pretty), home. MAX! Max so wanted to love her. We made him wait, he was way to excited. David loves her, says that it was a good decision to get her. :-) Max calms down, and they meet. Emmy still isn't sure about him, but she's not scared. She meets Lucy, things are ok. She meets Kelly, things are mostly ok. Kelly hisses a bit. I get jealous when she lays on the couch by David, then when I sit in a nearby chair she hops off the couch and comes to me. I am so happy! She likes me! She follows me all through the house, and now I am back to her asleep beside me on the couch.
Thank you Susan for raising such a sweet wonderful girl. I know you will miss her, but I will love her.
God worked so many things out for us...we didn't have to pay the 100.00 to put her on the plane, our flight was going to be sent to Sitka due to weather and made it in to Juneau, and she is perfect. Thank you God for giving me what I needed at this time in my life- someone who loves me and who I can dote on.
Anyway, I am sleepy and content.
Goodnight.

blogger trouble

Ok, so I tried to add several pictures to my last post, and they didn't make it. And I wanted the picture at the end. Didn't happen. The picture at the beginning was from The Hangar, on Erik's 21st birthday.
I'll try again.
If this works, it is me decorating our tree.

December!

Remember the rain? Well it left, and we got cold. Very cold. It's been below zero at night, and just barely above during the day. We have been flying through our wood, thank goodness Steve bought another load. He's gonna split it tomorrow. Who thought that I would be hoping for snow so it would warm up? We're going to get snow, then rain. Then who knows?

We got our tree Wednesday of last week, just before the deep freeze.. we decorated it on Saturday night. The den, (NOT THE LIVING ROOM!) the dining room, the kitchen and the red bathroom are all decorated with lovely multi lights. It's a lot of work, but it does look wonderful.
Oh, I forgot... Sunday of last week Steve took me to see "Enchanted". You've gotta see it.. at least if you are a girl. I loved it.
Here are some pictures since my last post.
tata for now...
