Calvary Family Camp

I love September.
The trees start changing colors, the air is nice and cool. And yes, it rains. I surprised myself last week when it was really quite dreary outside. I was driving to family camp and passed a spot where Steve and I stop on a regular basis to take pictures. There was a car in our spot, and I thought, why would he be there right now on such a day? Looking at the view, I thought, wow. It is so beautiful with all the different shades of gray. I must really be a Juneau girl if I think that the dreary, cloudy, rainy day could be beautiful. :-) And it was.
I also love September because it is the month I got married in. Today I got a card from my Dad, and I thought, why would he be sending me a card?? I opened it, and said oh my goodness, I forgot it was our anniversary on Wednesday. Steve was so funny, he had forgotten too and said, did we miss it???? haha. Only being so busy at Family Camp could make me forget. Steve, well, he would have forgotten anyway. :-) Happy 9 years to us on the 16th.

Family Camp. I have been to 8 of them at Echo Ranch. This year we had it at the Methodist Camp instead. It is always such a fun time of fellowship and getting closer to God and each other. This year was no exception. It rained as usual, but the sun was out as we unloaded on Friday and loaded back up on Sunday. The teaching was good, the food was great, there was laughter, tears, goodbyes and lots of love. Just what family camp should be. Well, I could have done without the goodbyes, but God sends people where He sends them.
Here is a sampling.. as usual, I took lots. But I think that Bryan Hosh took more. :-)

For some reason my bread turned out better than ever at camp. It makes me wish I could have started a bakery. Almost. :-)

A well deserved nap.

I followed Sherrie and Felix around for a bit on Saturday.. he did so many cute things and I took way too many pictures. I loved every minute of it.

This is one of my favorite pictures. I love these two!

Bryan showed me these, they remind me of the Mario games.

Karla and David Nash

Karla married her David on Saturday.... she is now Mrs. David Nash. There were so many things I loved about the wedding.. Karla being so beautiful, David looking so happy, having all of our friends and family there, Brian doing the service, Hannah taking the pictures. My dashing husband in his suit walking his baby girl down the aisle to David.
We're all taking bets on who will be getting married next... Jacob, Ed or David. Well, David has decided to go to Calvary Bible College in February, so my money is on him. :-)

I'm pretty much all rested up from the past week, Sunday after church I just sat in my chair and read Breaking Dawn again. I think I''m able to stop reading the Twilight books for awhile, today I didn't think about starting them again. Whew. I don't know why I love them so much, but I do. I'm going to concentrate on my knitting now, I must finish my works in progress.

So anyway. I have pictures, but can't wait to see Hannah's. She took over 1000. WOW.
Here is a sampling.
This was at the Rehearsal dinner.

You can't see it here, but Asher has a camera in his hands.. he was taking pictures too. :-)

At church on Sunday morning. They had to go back home to Anchorage last night, as David had to start class. We'll miss you.

Karla's bridal shower

Kelly and Miriah gave Karla a bridal shower tonight.. it was a very nice time. Hannah got lots of pictures with her brand new shiny camera, and I managed to get a few. I love weddings!
Let the photographs begin!

Aren't these girls beautiful? I am the luckiest lady in the world. :-)))
the price is right game...

I know, this has nothing to do with the shower, but I so love Felix.
Karla getting ready to see how well she knows David.. they decided she didn't have to stuff gum in her mouth, she got marshmellows instead.
Karla did really well, I think there were about 5 big marshmellows in her mouth. She is such a good sport, and we all laughed and laughed.

gorgeous!

Isn't she lovely?

books and a wedding

So I haven't been posting much lately. I seem to think that if I don't have a new picture then I shouldn't post. Nonsense I say.
I've been a tad bit obsessed of late with some books. About 3 weeks ago I finally decided that I would read Twilight. I read it in one day. Then I read New Moon in a day.. then Eclipse in a day. And Breaking dawn followed the same pattern. That's when I should have stopped. But I didn't. I went online and found Midnight sun, and read it. Then I picked up twilight again and read it chapter by chapter with Midnight sun. And then of course I had to finish the other three again.
I have never had a series of books grab me in such an intense manner, and it turns out I'm not the only one. :-) So now you can all tease me for loving fluff books, I can take it. And anyone who loves them like me can come with Kelly and I on November 20th and watch New Moon at the theater. Here's a pic I got off the internet... I have bunches. :-)))

Weddings. I love them. Especially when it's family getting married. Karla is marrying her David this Saturday, I can't wait! I am so fortunate to have so many kids, they keep giving me such wonderful daughters and sons. :-) Someday one of them will give me a grandbaby........

David is in California visiting some friends and having a blast. I miss him, but am glad he's there. Same old same old for the rest of us here.
My knitting has taken a backseat to Twilight, but I'm finishing the last book again so it's time to get back to knitting. I've got a lot to finish before winter comes. Ugh.. it's gonna be here before we know it. At least Steve got us a woodshed full of wood already.
I guess that's all for now, I will of course have tons of wedding pictures this weekend.
Till then...
