yarn, beautiful yarn

I've been in a bit of a yucky mood lately, and there's only been a couple of things to make it bright. One of course is God, I've been reading out of my Daily Bible again, and that always makes things better. I got to see this eagle outside my window earlier this week, eagles always remind me of God.
Two is the worship today at church. It was really good.. the songs were just what I needed.

And three? YARN. How can something so simple be so great? I love to look at it, touch it, and knit with it. It just makes me happy to see all the wonderful skeins of yarn I have. I got it all out last weekend, took pictures of most of it, and sorted it into bins and totes, and then stuffed the rest onto some shelving. I really have an enormous amount of yarn. it makes me do the happy dance. :-))) Now I'm making a list of all the projects I want to knit, and putting the picture of the yarn with the pattern. So much fun. Here's a picture of some of it, it's my lorna's laces.

We are in the process of refinancing our house since the interest rates have dropped so low...we have lots of cleaning and fixing to do before the appraiser comes next week. I hope we get it all done. Steve said once the refinancing is all done he will buy me another Ipod. :-)

There's not much new with the boys.. David has turned in some applications, but hasn't heard back yet. Hopefully he will have a job soon. Erik is getting ready to go to the academy in Anchorage, and I didn't talk to Tim this week so no news there. David just came up to my room, and looked so cute I had to take his picture. I love him with longer hair. :-)

My health is mostly the same. I've quit my thyroid medicine for awhile since it doesn't seem to be working, my back is in bad shape, and my tiredness is still there. Someday it will all be better.
That's enough for now.

how quickly it changes

It surprises me sometimes how quickly life changes. Shelly was here for almost a year, and I got so used to it. I took her for granted, and now she's gone. All the things that we could have done, the things that we said oh let's do them later, well, now we can't. I miss her. I wish John would get a job in Juneau, and they would all move up here and live just down the street. That would be perfect. Well, at least perfect for me...they just aren't Juneau people. :-( I'm just a bit blue today.

I would be listening to my Ipod, but it got stolen. :-(( At church! I'm hoping that whoever took it will feel really guilty and bring it back. I could just buy a new one, but Erik bought it for my birthday, and it made me happy everytime I used it.. remembering how he surprised me with it. Oh well, it did have lots of Christian music on it, maybe the ratfink will listen to it and change.

On a happier note, Josh and Caleb are snow boarding today, David is gonna go apply for a job downtown, and I'm gonna go to work and then knit. Yarn is always a mood picker upper.
How about some pictures?

I love my shellybelly. I miss you.

birthdays and babies

Last week Steve turned 50 on the first day of his work week, so we celebrated it this past Friday. Larry and Kelly were back from their honeymoon, yay!, so we all went to Canton House for supper. We came back home afterwards for chocolate cake, see:
He's the sweetest husband!
I'm so glad that Larry and Kelly are back!

Felix was dedicated to the Lord on Sunday, I really love the Hoshide family. And the Ewing families. There are just so many wonderful people at my church!

Tim and Christine Phillips had their baby boy, Ezra James. He is so cute!

There's been a lot going on with the Hinson's, and I'll not blog about it here. Shelly is going back to Texas, and the boys and animals are staying here for a few months.. they can all use prayer, especially Kate.

More later this week..........
