vets and wood

Good morning on this wonderful sunny Wednesday!
It's been an interesting week so far. On Thursday, Max had his first (and hopefully last) run in with a porcupine. He ended up with about 15 or so quills in his face. We couldn't get them all, so took him to the vet on Friday....they had to put him to sleep since he wouldn't let them get at the two we could see, he ended up having 3 more in his throat. We got to add 265.00 to his rising vet costs. I'm glad we love him and that he's a great dog! The next day Kelly had to go to the vet, she ended up having a bladder infection and diabetes. Ugh. More large money spent. She won't eat, and wouldn't take her medicine, so back to the vet for a shot. Now she's hiding again, and I don't know if David got her to eat or not. I got her to eat about 8 little kibbles. Pray for her, if she doesn't eat the vet talked about a feeding tube, and there is no more vet money in the till. Just how do the vets come up with the pricing? Doesn't it seem outrageous?

On a brighter note, the sun has been out! Hurray! Rejoicing in the land!
Steve and Caleb spent all day Monday outside splitting wood. I neglected to take a picture of them splitting, but did take some of Steve and Kate stacking it yesterday. It was a HUGE stack of wood in our yard. We're curious to see just how full our wood shed will be. Last year it was completely full and we used it all and then some. Thank you Caleb and Kate for helping with the wood work.
